Proud to be a geek? Than you’ll love these awesome flash drives that double as stylish cufflinks, and allow you to literally wear your geekiness on your sleeves.

Now this is what I call functional fashion. With these USB flash drive cufflinks you can look elegant at work, or a dinner party, and always keep your important documents, or favorite music very close. The cufflinks are engravable and come in gunmetal and gold finishes.

But stylish geek fashion doesn’t come cheap. These 4 Gb pair of accessories will set you back $195, with an extra $8 for the engraving. If you think they’re worth it, head over to Cufflinks.com and get yourself some sweet geekiness.

The QuickerTek Charge Monitor is designed to tell you just how much power is coming out of your USB ports, and into the iPad. Bceause of its insatiable appetite only a few computer models can actually generate enough energy to effectively recharge it. All you have to do is stick it into one of your gadgets’ USB ports and stick a USB cable at the other end. The four LED markers light up, depending on the power levels.

It might seem like a useful device, but considering most USB 2.0 ports only deliver 500mA (with only a few recent Gigabyte entries cranked up to 1500mA) it’s worth knowing if you can use USB to recharge your gadgets. Since the iPad requires at least 1000mA to recharge, the QuickerTek Charge Monitor can help you find the USB port with the right amount of juice.

The QuickerTek Charge Monitor costs $29.95 and is compatible with Apple products like the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

It has, but can you afford it?

You probably can, but I’m sure you won’t like paying a large amount of cash for a few extra gigabites. Unlike the PS3, which allows players to save data on any external device that connects via USB, the Xbox doesn’t have this native feature, so it requires a workaround. But the brains at Microsoft immediately saw this as a way to squeeze more money from their clients.

The new Xbox 360 flash drives offer 16 Gb of extra space, but at a cost of $70. That’s more than some stores sell their 20 gb drives, these days, and the new Microsoft sticks come with no extra features, other than their compatibility with the Xbox 360, and a free month of Xbox Live Gold, which is worth $8.

I for one would rather waitfor that 250 Gb Xbox 360 add-on HDD.

Seagate has released the new GoFlex drive series, and to make them more appealing, it’s offering you the chance to take full use of the USB 3.0 speeds.

USB 3.0 mighht be the next big thing in data tranfer, with speeds theoretically 3 times highr than USB 2.0, but it’s still such a new technology that Seagate couldn’t incorporate it in the new GoFlex external drives. But it’s done something almost as good. The company is now selling a smart kit that will turn any laptop’s Express Slot into a USB 3.0 port for one of its GoFlex drives.

To experience the unbelieveable speeds of USB 3.0, all you have to do is connect an adapter to the GoFlex drive, and then plug it into one of your laptop’s USB 2.0 slots. It may not be the most comfortable, or good looking solutions, but until something better comes along, it’s totally worth the advantages of the new USB 3.0 technology.

The Seagat kit costs $80, and the new GoFlex Pro drives range between $140 and $190.

All you have to do is push in the USB stick, set the combination, and spin the tumblers. For the untrained eye, the USB flash drive seems safe, especially since trying to pull the stick out of the lock will damage it. But, in reality, this tumbler USB lock doesn’t anybody from accessing the data directly from the chip, inside the flash drive, provide it you know how to do it.

But, the old fashioned lock does look unbreakable to most people, just don’t try to use it to secure documents regarding national security or such things.

It is just a matter of time until the USB 3.0 will completely replace the USB 2.0. Asus realize that and they seem to be the first to offer USB 3.0 with a variety of products.

So the guys at Asus are claiming that their future notebooks, netbooks and a variety of mainboards will be equipped with USB 3.0 ports.

This is an important step for Asus in trying to populate the world with USB 3.0 devices and I hope that others will do the same.
