Acer Unveils Three New Aspire Mini-Laptops

Acer Aspire family has now three new members, three new mini-laptops, the Aspire 512, the Aspire 721 and the Aspire 1551.

As you probably thought, the Aspire 512 is the lower-end model and has a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It sports a 1.2GHz AMD V105 single core AMD CPU and an ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphic card with high definition capabilities. Also it offers supports for DDR3 memory.

The Aspire 721 comes with a 11.6 inch display with 1366 x 768p resolution and it’s powered by a AMD Athlon Neo Dual Core K325 processor and the same ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. A 5600 mAh battery is available for this model.

Acer‘s latest netbook, the Aspire One 521, comes with AMD processor and not with the standard Intel Atom as we were expecting.

The Acer Aspire One 521 Netbook features a 10.1 inch LCD display and, under the hood, it hides a 1.2Ghz AMD V105 single core processor on a AMD M880G chipset and ATI Radeon HD4225 graphics. Other specification include Bluetooth 2.0 and HDMI out.

But that’s all for the moment, no other technical specification were officially announced. Even so, the Aspire One 521 will probably feature 1GB of RAM, 160GB or 250GB hard disk drive, all of these running under Windows 7.


Acer’s 3D Capable Monitor Launched In Japan

Acer‘s latest innovation is a 3D-capable LCD screen which was launched in Japan today. Known as Acer GD245HQbid, the monitor features a 23.6-inch display that has a 300cd/m2 brightness, 2ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 80,000:1 dynamic one.

The monitor offers you the chance to watch 3D movies or to play 3D video games without any kind of 3D glasses. The Acer GD245HQbid 3D monitor retails for 45,000 Yen which means somewhere around $486.

Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T Specifications

Acer’s latest ultra portable notebook hasn’t been announced yet, but here are some specs for the Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T.

The notebook has a 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. As for its “brain”, the notebook comes with an Intel Core i5 -520UM processor, replacing the CULV processor that was used on Acer Aspire Timeline 1810. Also, the notebook comes with integrated 802.11 b.g.n WiFi, HDMI, 3 x USB ports, S/PDIF, Bluetooth (optional), 3G modem (optional). The battery life is somewhere around 8 hours at a single charge.


Acer Aspire One 752 Notebook Unveiled

Acer has unveiled another ultra portable notebook, the Aspire One 752, that has almost the same features as the Aspire Timeline 1410.

The Aspire One 752 has a 11.6″ LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768p and sports a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron ULV743 processor, 4GB of RAM, 320 GB HDD and Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics. Other features include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Lan, HDMI port and it has a battery life of 5  hours.


Acer Aspire 5740DG Combines DirectX 11 with 3D Technology

Acer has unveiled its latest creation, the Aspire 5740DG, which is the combination between the DirectX 11 graphics, multitouch capabilities and a third technology, the 3D.

The laptop sports an Intel Intel Core i5 430M 2.26 GHz processor, 4GB RAM and, one of its strengths, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphic card with up to 2,746 MB of HyperMemory.

The Aspire 5740DG has a 15.6-inch Wide XGA Glare screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and it is capable of outputting 3D images. It also has a 640GB hard disk drive and a DVD Super Multi DL unit.


Acer announces beTouch E110 Android Powered Smartphone


Following the success of its Liquid handheld, Acer follows up with another interesting Google Android powered smartphone, the beTouch E110.

As the name suggests, the E110 is a touchscreen device, but unlike its popular predecessor, this is an entry-level phone. Still, the Korean manufacturer has equipped it with everything it needs to suit user needs.

The Acer beTouch E110 is equipped with a 416MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor and runs on 512 Mb ROM and 256 Mb RAM that assure every task is handled seamlessly. It features a 3.2 megapixel camera and an impressive 2.8 inch display. Running Android 1.5, the Acer beTouch E110 can be used, among other things, as a navigation device, thanks to the built-in GPS module.


Acer Announces Limited Edition Ferrari Smartphone


Acer announced it will once again be teaming up with sports car manufacturer Ferrari to produce a limited edition Acer Ferrari smartphone.

Blackberries and iPhones are way to common nowadays, and the other smartphones just aren’t good enough. These are the problems trendy people are confronted with in these hard times, and there’s not much they can do about it. Luckily Acer is coming to the rescue.

The Korean tech giant has teamed up with Italian car maker Ferrari for a limited edition smartphone. Not many details have been revealed so far, other than it will run on the Android 2.1 OS and have some strong Ferrari cues and branding. The official launch of the Acer Ferrari smartphone will take place sometime in March 2010.

Acer Aspire One 532G : The First to Use NVIDIA’s Ion 2 Graphics

Acer has announced the Aspire One 532G netbook claimed as the world’s first netbook to use NVIDIA’s next-generation ION graphics acceleration.

The netbook features a 10.1-inch HD LCD display, Intel Atom N450 platform and next-generation NVIDIA® ION GPU which will offer you high-definition video playback up to 1080p via HDMI-output to HDTV, 3D computing and high-end gaming performance.

The Aspire One 532G has very small dimensions, measuring only 1-inch thin and 1Kg in weight and it will be available in three colors : Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red and Pearl Silver. The battery should last for up to 10 hours and the charging process is 3 times faster than usual.

The Acer Aspire One 532G netbook will go on sale at the end of Q1 2010.

Acer’s New Aspire G 7750-A64 Predator


Acer announced it will be launching a new improved version of its orange gaming rig, the Aspire G, code name “Predator”

Launched last year, the ASG7710-A41 gaming PC was one lean, mean gaming machine, but the new 20.7 kg-heavy ASG7750-A64 promises to make his predecessor forgotten. Apart from the cool-looking PC-case that turned from mostly orange to mostly black, changes include a more powerful Core i7-960 @3.20GHz processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 graphics-card.

The Acer Aspire G 7750-A64 Predator will come out in February, in Japan, at a price of 289,000 yen ($3,170)

Branded Ultraportable Notebook : Acer Ferrari One

Acer Ferrari One is a branded notebook by Acer in collaboration with Ferrari. They say that “In the true spirit of the Ferrari racing team, the Ferrari One notebook combines performance and extreme portability”. This means that “under the hood” you’ll find a 1.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, a 250GB hard drive , 4 GB DDR 2 RAM memory and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 graphics. The battery lasts for about 5hrs and the notebook is ultraportable due to its small dimensions, 11.6-inch in thickness and 1.5 kg weight.

You can find the Acer Ferrari One notebook at a price of  $599.
