Intel Announces New Core i5 580M Processor for Q4 2010

Intel is about to launch a new Core i5 processor later this year, the Core i5 580M, and it will be replacing the -540M chip which is now available on the market.

The current i5 540M processor has a clockspeed of 2.53Ghz and the turbo overclock speed is reported to 3.06 GHz. Intel says that the new 508M processor will be faster and comes with a clockspeed of 2.66GHz and turbo overclock speed of 3.33GHz. The graphics core of the 580M model will spin at 500MHz and it can be overclocked at 766MH.

The new Intel Core i5 580M is expected to enter the market in the last quarter of 2010.

Asus G73jh Gaming Netbook – Unveiled at This Year CES

The Asus ROG G73jh Gaming Netbook has been presented at this year CES. The machine features the latest Intel Core i7 processor, the graphics are provided by an ATI Radeon HD5870 mobile graphic card which offers support for DirectX 11 and it can be upgraded with up to 8GB of RAM. The netbook also has a HD 17.3 inch display with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080, 1TB of storage memory, EAX 4.0 and CMSS 3D surround sound.

U.S AirForce orders up 2200 more PS3 consoles

In March last year,U.S. Air Force has bought 336 PS3s from Sony.The consoles were not dedicated for entertainment,but for their supercomputer research.The primary interest of the U.S. AirForce laboratory is the powerful Cell processor , needed for some kind of a program.What the program entails hasn’t been revealed to the public yet,but we know for sure that U.S AirForce has recently ordered another package of about 2200 PS3 consoles.They say about Sony that is the  “only brand on the market that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for this program at an acceptable cost.”
