New Specs Revealed On The LG Panther GW910

The LG Panther has been unveiled a few months ago but with so little information about its features. Until now we knew only that it has a slide out QWERTY keyboard and runs Windows Mobile 7. Now, new information about its technical characteristics has been released.

The LG Panther GW910 is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and has a 3.5″ pixel AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The 5 megapixel camera has a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels and features autofocus, LED flash and face and smile recognition. In video mode, it is capable of recording 720p HD video.


The Nokia N8 Will Be Available Through Vodafone UK By August 2010

Vodafone has announced that they will start shipping the Nokia N8 smartphone in August 2010.

The handset features a  3.5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. It has 256MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, 16GB internal memory and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB memory card.

The camera features a 12 megapixel lens with Carl Zeiss optics and a maximum resolution of 4000×3000 pixels. It also has Xenon flash and autofocus capability. In video mode, it can record at 720p with 25Fps.


Altek To Launch 14 Megapixel Camera Phone

Altek has developed a new camera phone which features an impressive camera lens. Called the Altek Leo 3.5G, the handset has been presented as a smartphone and comes with a 14 megapixel CCD sensor.

Even if technical specs haven’t been made public yet, we know that the cameraphone is capable of shooting in HD, it has LED flash for video mode and Xenon flash for picture mode and 3x optical zoom.

The smartphone’s other features include WiFi and 3G connectivity with HSPDA support and it seems it will be running a version of Google’s Android OS. Altek said that they will release more information on the Altek Leo 3.5G at CommunicAsia 2010 event which takes place in June.


Samsung Wave Now Available in Europe

Samsung has announced that the first handset to run their new Bada OS has become available today in Europe. Presented at Mobile World Congress 2010, the new Samsung Wave is now available in the UK, France, Germany and other countries.

The smartphone features 3.3 inches super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and 16M colors. It comes with 2GB or 8GB of internal memory and it also has a microSD card slot for up to a 32GB memory card.

The camera is great and features a 5MP lens with 2592 x 1944p resolution, autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, face, smile and blink detection. In video mode it can record at 30Fps with continuous autofocus. The phone also has a secondary camera for video calls.


HTC Smartphones to Receive Android 2.2 Update This Year

HTC, one of the most important manufacturers of Google Android smartphones, has announced that a large number of their handsets will receive Google’s latest version of OS, the Android 2.2.

An official from HTC said : “We are working closely with Google and our other partners to ensure we have the earliest access to everything we need to provide a complete and solid Sense experience on Froyo” es It is possible to see Android 2.2 on smartphones by the end of 2010 and HTC says that the smartphones that have been released this year will have priority.

Most likely we will see the Android 2.2 on smartphones like HTC Wildfire, HTC Hero, HTC Desire and HTC Legend.

Virgin Media and T-Mobile to Sell HTC Wildfire in June 2010

After Virgin Media announced yesterday that it will start shipping the HTC Wildfire in June, another mobile network in the UK, T-Mobile, announces that they will also sell the handset from 14th of June 2010.

The HTC Wildfire handset will bring social networking to its users and comes with social apps like Facebook and Twitter. The device can be the best choice for you also for its features. It has a 3.2 inch capacitive QVGA touchscreen display with accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

The 5MP camera has a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and features autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging and smile recognition.


Garmin and ASUS Join Forces for the Garminfone


T-Mobile has announced it will be distributing the new Android-powered phone, dveloped by ASUS, in collaboration with GPS-device specialist, Garmin.

Garminfone was announced late last month, and T-Mobile has announced it will be available in June, for $199, with a two-year agreement. This collaborative effort of ASUS and Garmin features a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, a 3 megapixel camera, GPS, and Garmin’s own custom UI, meant to facilitate in-car use.

Garminfone obviously focuses on GPS technology, and it will offer users real-life weather and traffic updates, auto re-routing and access to Garmin’s huge points of interest database. Pre-order isn’t yet available, but the Garminfone’s custom features are bound to make it a big hit among drivers.

The Samsung Seek M350 has now gone official on Sprint and comes in an eco-friendly package that will allow its users to reuse the packaging to ship old wireless phones and other phone accessories for free.

The phone has a 2.6-inch QVGA intuitive touchscreen display and a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard. It features a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD card slot for up to a 32GB memory card, threaded messaging, social networking support for Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, 3G, 128MB of RAM, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headset.


Android 2.1 Update for Motorola MILESTONE, Available in the UK

Motorola has released the Android 2.1 update for those in the UK who own a Motorola MILESTONE smartphone.

Motorola made the official announcement on their Facebook page and the update is available for download at their site.

On this page you will also find information about the minimum requirements of your PC in order to download and install the update, such as a 400Mhz processor, 256MB of RAM or 250MB of available hard disk space and, since we find ourselves in the 21th century, it shouldn’t be a problem with that.

Lenovo LePhone Launched in China


Lenovo has finally launched LePhone, the smartphone that made such a big impression, on everybody, at CES 2010.

As announced the stylish LePhone, has first launched on Lenovo’s home turf, in China. Powered by the Android 2.1 and featuring a 3.7 inch wide AMOLED display, as well as a number of interesting features, the Lenovo LePhone is one of the few Chinese phones worth drooling over. Sadly, we’ll have to wait a while, until the Chinese manufacturer tests its mobile device in China and other emerging markets.


HTC Hero Ready For Android 2.1 Update

HTC has announced that the HTC Hero will receive a ROM upgrade on April 16th.

The upgrade they are talking about is actually an OS update to Android 2.1 and it will be released on handsets with the following ROMs : Nordic/Greek/RUS/UKR/SA.

This update is probably included in the HTC Android 2.1 upgrade program which was announced not long ago and where the HTC company plans on updating all their Android-based handsets to Android 2.1

The Motorola MILESTONE is ready to receive the Android 2.1 OTA update. The process takes very short time and requires a reboot after installation.

Bphone Smartphone Runs Linux And NOT Android


Every time I look at these images, I think of anything else but a smartphone. The Bphone is a smartphone made in China which uses Linux as OS and not Windows Mobile or Android, as you probably expected.

The Bphone has an enormous 5″ touchscreen display with 800×480 resolution that should more than enough for your videos and it also has 180-degree flip capability. The smartphone is powered by a Marvell PXA310 CPU, running at 624MHz.


Sprint Unveils Motorola i1 Android Smartphone

Sprint has unveiled their latest mobile phone which this time is using Google’s Android OS, the Motorola i1.

The smartphone features a 3.1 inch capacitive touchscreen HVGA display that was designed to keep the dust and dirt away. The 5 megapixel camera will capture both video and stills that can be stored on a microSDHC card.

Other features include integrated WiFi, Bluetooth and the phone is also rugged to military 810F standards which means that is should provide protection against shocks, water and dust.


Chinese Make Multimedia Cellphone with Attachable LED Projector


The Mighty 3 Inch Cellphone doesn’t have all the impressive features of today’s smartphones, but it does sport an impressive LED projector. What company can say that about its handhelds?

This original Chinese device features a 3″ touchscreen at 320×240 resolution, Bluetooth connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera, VGA video mode, mp3, amr, aac, mp4, gif, jpg, 3gp and xvid player, and a microSD card slot. It comes with a 2 Gb card, but you can upgrade up to 16 Gb.

It doesn’t have advanced features like WIFI, but the attachable LED projector is definitely impressive enough. It’s able to render 30″ images on a flat surface 1.2 meters away. Unfortunately it’s a dual-band (900/1800) GSM phone, so you won’t find much use for it anywhere in North America.


Acer announces beTouch E110 Android Powered Smartphone


Following the success of its Liquid handheld, Acer follows up with another interesting Google Android powered smartphone, the beTouch E110.

As the name suggests, the E110 is a touchscreen device, but unlike its popular predecessor, this is an entry-level phone. Still, the Korean manufacturer has equipped it with everything it needs to suit user needs.

The Acer beTouch E110 is equipped with a 416MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor and runs on 512 Mb ROM and 256 Mb RAM that assure every task is handled seamlessly. It features a 3.2 megapixel camera and an impressive 2.8 inch display. Running Android 1.5, the Acer beTouch E110 can be used, among other things, as a navigation device, thanks to the built-in GPS module.


Acer Announces Limited Edition Ferrari Smartphone


Acer announced it will once again be teaming up with sports car manufacturer Ferrari to produce a limited edition Acer Ferrari smartphone.

Blackberries and iPhones are way to common nowadays, and the other smartphones just aren’t good enough. These are the problems trendy people are confronted with in these hard times, and there’s not much they can do about it. Luckily Acer is coming to the rescue.

The Korean tech giant has teamed up with Italian car maker Ferrari for a limited edition smartphone. Not many details have been revealed so far, other than it will run on the Android 2.1 OS and have some strong Ferrari cues and branding. The official launch of the Acer Ferrari smartphone will take place sometime in March 2010.

HTC to Launch Low-Cost Smartphone in April

HTC will return on the market with a low-cost touchscreen handset, the HTC Smart. The device is based on Qualcomm’s Brew mobile platform and uses HTC’s own Sense user interface.

The device is powered by a 300MHz Qualcomm processor and features 256MB of memory, a 2.8-inch touchscreen with 240 x 320 resolution, 3MP camera and a microSD card slot. It also has Bluetooth 2.0, Flash 3.1 Lite for applications but there is no Wi-Fi connectivity available.

The HTC Smart will go on sale in the UK in April but there are no details about the pricing yet.
