It shoots in 3D, yes, but for this low a price, you can’t expect something like 3D HD. Still the standard VGA is decent enough. The DXG 3D camcorder even comes with a 7″ digital photo viewer that allows you to view your 3D footage, right after you shoot it. The videos save in motion JPEG format.

Before you get too excited, I should tell you NEC just introduced their new wonder chip, we probably won’t see it on a phone before the end of the year.

Still the NEC CE151 camera chip is quite a breakthrough that supposedly makes mobiles comparable to DSLR cameras. Among the most impressive features of NEC’s new chip are the HD video recording capabilities and the shooting of still images of up to 13 megapixels.

There was no official statement on when we can expect NEC to implement the CE151 chip in its handhelds, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Be sure to check the rest of its features, after the break.

Easy to use API

Will be backwards compatible with earlier NEC CE chips, providing a smooth transition to the CE151

Noise-reduction function to minimize lens distortion commonly found in phone cameras

Reduced energy consumption of appr. 25% from the CE143

Japanese camera giant Casio, first showcased the revolutionary Green Slim projector at CES, and now more details emerge.

The Casio Green Slim is the world’s first high-brightness projector able to render video in a light room, without the help of a high-pressure mercury lamp. The engineers at Casio managed to pull this off by combining laser, fluorescent and LED technology, and creating a high-output of green light.

Another interesting feature of Casio’s projector is its small, slim body. Measuring no more than a standard piece of paper, it’s also just 1.7 inches thick and weighs only 5 pounds. The Green Slim projector uses DLP light-projection technology and can handle resolutions up to 1280×800.

According to Casio’s press release, the Green Slim projector’s lamp has a lifespan of 20,000 (more than ten times that of ordinary projectors) and can achieve full brightness in 8 seconds. No word yet on this baby’s pricing.

The Apple iPhone isn’t exactly known for its outstanding video-camera, so it’s no wonder people are trying to come up with ways to improve on that. Here’s what ThinkGeek has for you:

The Owle Video Rig uses anodized billet aluminum, a mini boom-mic and a wide angle lens to make you feel like a professional film maker. All you have to do is nestle your iPhone inside the metal and silicone case of the OWLE and you’re set to become the next James Cameron.

Check more OWLE photos and features after the jump

Features:

Anodized aluminum case improves iPhone camera with upgraded lens and boom mic

Improves video or still shots

Works with iPhone 3G or 3GS (However 3G requires additional app to shoot video and the quality is poor)

iPhone fits inside included silicone case, then mounts inside the aluminum housing for full protection

Constructed from a solid block of milled aluminum

Shoe mount on top allows you to add camera accessories (flash will not work, since there is no way to sync it to the iPhone camera shutter)

Four screw mounts on the corners of the case enable you to mount to a tripod
