What’s the last thing you’d expect a lamp to do? Ok, ok don’t say things like talk, walk, float and stuff. Anyway, this particular lamp can connect you to the internet.

The Elis lamp, produced by Onda, has a really interesting design, and I wouldn’t mind having it in my bedroom. But design isn’t exactly the lamp’s main feature, considering it has a built-in WIFI module that enables internet connections at speeds of up to 21 Mbps. It also features an Ethernet port.

Showcased at MWC 2010, the Onda Elis WIFI lamp. proves how simple it is to include useful functions in common household items. More photos after the jump.

Sagem Orga partnered with Telefonica to create the world’s first SIM card with integrated WIFI, and guess what, they actually pulled it off.

You’re probably having a ‘how did they do it?’ moment right now. Well I can tell you what they did, but not how they did it. According to their press release, the SIMFI can replace ordinary SIM cards, but features an embedded WLAN modem that provides HSPA internet access for any WIFI compatible devices. That means laptops, netbooks, notebooks and whatever else you can think of.

Because it doesn’t USB or PCMCIA modems, SIMFI cards allow users to avoid driver set-ups and complex 3G modems. There was no official word on when the SIMFI WIFI cards will be available, and for what price, but we can only hope they’ll be released by the end of this year.

One of the most useful gadgets unveiled at CES 2010, the RCA Airnergy turns WIFI signals into energy and recharges your gadgets.

Wireless charging kits and PowerMats are definitely useful, but the RCA Airnergy makes them all look outdated. This simple-looking device practically produces power out of thin air, by harvesting WIFI signals and converting them into energy. Sure, it’s been done before, but the RCA Airnergy actually makes the technology usable.

The Airnergy features a rechargeable battery, so as long as your near a WIFI signal, it recharges itself, while you mind your own business. Then all you have to do is connect to your desired gadget and it starts pumping power. Proximity to the WIFI signal and the number of signals affect the charging speed.

The RCA Airnergy will be released this summer, for a price of just $40. Awesome and cheap technology, what more can you ask for?
